People will ask me, “Doctor Business, don’t you know you’re supposed to delete the default ‘Hello, World’ post when you begin a new site?” But its presence is purposeful.

I’ve been doing business for as long as I can remember, but as many of you begin your transformations from merger beginnings to economic success, it’s important to remember where you started in order to gain a perspective onto where you are going.

Consider the accompanying photograph. A man cultivates a modest plant. Man controls nature just as he controls his own destiny. This is symbolism. A metaphor that stands for the greater path of ambition. Stands tall and proud as a redwood tree. And you can see what I did there; I brought my own metaphor around full circle.

Let’s begin today with an exercise. Open up your checking account information on your smart phone. Locate your available balance. Now close your eyes and envision that number with two extra zeros on the right. Should that be your goal? It’s certainly a good start. This kind of wealth might allow you to live comfortably while also having the added safety net if you happened to be the sole investor on a failed technology startup company. It happens to the best of us, but the safety net will cradle you like a silk blanket. So have your goals and dream liberally.
