Takeover Tuesday is a weekly motivational program for you, the readers. Every Tuesday, you will be given simple tasks to be completed throughout the course of the week in order to inch closer to meeting your true potential by visualizing your ideal self, shaking hands with them, and then ruthlessly becoming that person.

These tasks are simple in order to cultivate SUCCESS and for you to get used to what success feels like so you can apply it in more places in your everyday life.

Last week we had quite the opportunity to taste victory. How did you do? Personally, I did 8 jumping jacks, 1 over the challenge, and that gave me the extra confidence needed to tackle a meeting with a potentially stressful new client. Tasting that small amount of success motivated me to want more!

This week’s challenges:

1. 2 glasses of water every workday

We all enjoy our daily coffee runs! In fact, it was one of my challenges to enjoy this activity to its fullest last week! But you also want to make sure that you are getting water. I know, I know, but I’m not here to lecture you. People will say to get up to 8 glasses of water a day, but listen, I get it, we lead busy, important lives. Maybe some people have the time to drink water all day, but you’re a business-driven go-getter! In that spirit, this week’s challenge is just 2 glasses of water every workday. That gives you the weekend to decide for yourself!

2. Slightly more firm handshake

If you’ve ever attended one of my seminars, you’ll remember that one of the main things I like to focus on is “First Impressions” (perhaps you even still have my take-home brochure) and “The Art of the Handshake.” All I want you to do this week, is that when you meet a new potential business ally, give just a little more of a grip on that handshake. Look them in the eye. Close that deal!

3. Use a $100 bill as a bookmark

Not forever (you’ll want to invest it) but just for the week. Feel the excitement of using something with literal intrinsic value as something plain and benign. For the week, that $100 is so small and insignificant because in this challenge, you live in the belief that you have so many $100 bills laying around that you don’t know what to do with them. Live in that feeling and then make it your goal to become that person for real in the months ahead.

Now get to work, friends!
